"The principle of Culmulative Advantage is what inspired me to create the dial of this timepiece. The phenomenon where the 'rich get richer and the poor get poorer'. In this case, used metaphorically to refer to the popularity of the 'Mona Lisa'. Once a thing becomes popular, it will tend to become more popular. 

 

Many, including myself, have to this day questioned what makes the 'Mona Lisa' a masterpiece and what makes her so famous. For most of its life, the 'Mona Lisa' languished in relative obscurity. It was only on August 21st, 1911 that Leonardo's portrait of his patron's wife rocketed to stardom. It became the victim of what has been described as the greatest art theft of the 20th century making her a media sensation. She has since become the most famous painting in the world."
